My Biggest Change

Last year, my life changed in the best way. I have always been a big kid since very young, that’s just the way my body is. My mother and father also have big bodies, but they were skinny when they were young. But I was not skinny. Most of my classmates were smaller than I was. I was always huge, that’s why my classmates made fun of me. All the students/children always laughed and call me names. They would call me “fatso”, “fat boy” and “nerd”. But I did not care. I was happy with myself, and that was all that mattered. My mother told me not to pay attention to all the kids that made fun of me. I listened to her advice and lived my own life.

My life went through a change when I went to the doctor last year. It was time for my doctor’s visit and that I was when I found out I WAS OVERWEIGHT. I was just 11 years old, but I had the body of a fat teenager. My doctor told me that being fat was very unhealthy. He told me that a lot of overweight kids get sick and have a hard time living their lives. I got very scared because I wanted to be a healthy kid. I told my mother I would do anything to be healthy because I want to live a long, happy life. After my visit to the doctor, I made the decision to get up, exercise, and start eating healthy.

I like watching TV on my free time, and I would always see Jared on commercials for Subway. Those commercials made me change the type of food I ate. Instead of eating fatty foods, I started eating food with a lot of fresh vegetables. I also wanted to join a gym and the doctor told me that would be a good idea.

I joined a gym for kids called “PowerPlay”. When I first got there, I saw a lot of kids that were overweight. I did not feel left out. All the trainers were very nice and they really helped us reach our goals. They were never mean to us, and they never made fun of us. After one month of hard physical training, I had already lost 5 pounds. I was noticing the difference in my body and I was feeling great. Other people around me saw the differences and they were all so happy for me.

When I first started going to the gym, I weighed 137 pounds. Now I weight 103 pounds. It took me 5 months to loss all the weight; it was very hard. My favorite trainer is Mack, he really made me sweat all the time. At first, I didn’t like him because he made me work hard. Then he made me realize my goals were not going to be easy reach, I had to work hard. He is the best trainer ever!

I feel like Jared from Subway, I want to be on a commercial too. I love and thank all my trainer for helping me loss a lot of weight. I always learned a very valuable lesson, junk food and pizza are very bad for you. I am living a happy and healthy life now, it feels great. Now the kids can’t make fun of me anymore.
